New DVD releases for
Doherty and Milano
Shannen Doherty
Beverly Hills 90210, season 1
The Fox network got one of its signature hits, and producer Aaron Spelling
regained his television industry traction, with this often topical drama
about West Coast high-school students. Jason Priestley and Shannen Doherty
play twins Brandon and Brenda, newly relocated from the Midwest to a new
ZIP code. Luke Perry, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Ian Ziering and Brian
Austin Green also star.
DVD extras: audio commentary by creator-producer Darren Star on selected
episodes; episode recaps.
Alyssa Milano
Melrose Place, season 1
If a full season of "90210" is finally hitting video, this spinoff can't
be far behind. The other show's Kelly (Garth) is the entry point into this
series, as she starts a romance with the older Jake Hanson (Grant Show), a
motorcycle-riding enigma who lives in a Los Angeles apartment complex with
other young adults. Heather Locklear spiced things up at midseason by
joining the show as scheming businesswoman Amanda Woodward.
You can get both in one set called "The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful".

Picket Fences Season 1 DVD to be released on 13 February 2007
Fox has announced the first season of the award-winning series will be
released on February 13, 2007. The 22 episode season will fit on 6 discs
(989 mins), and will sell for $59.98 US, or $89.98 CAN (Canadians should
consider ordering this from the US to save money). The Full Frame (1.33:1)
video will be joined by Dolby Surround audio tracks in English, French and
Spanish.
The set will also include two featurettes.
Plot:
Picket Fences deals with life in a small town - in this case the town of
Rome, Wisconsin; it centres around the Brock Family. Jimmy Brock is the
Sheriff of the town and likes to think he's the centre of attention. His
wife Jill is the town doctor; they have three children: Kimberly, 18
(Holly Marie Combs), Matthew, 13 and Zachary, 10. A lot happens in this
small town from bizarre murders to rape, assault, drunk driving,
kidnapping & spontaneous human combustion. It seems that all the crimes
that have occurred in the whole of the United States have at one point or
another happened in Rome and they have to deal with it in their own quirky
way.

Holly
Marie Combs Welcomes Baby Boy No. 2
Charmed star Holly Marie Combs and her husband, David Donoho, welcomed
their second child, Riley Edward Donoho, Thursday afternoon in L.A.,
PEOPLE has learned exclusively.
Combs, 32, gave birth at 12:57 p.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Riley
weighed in at 8½ lbs. and was 19 inches long. He joins big brother Finley,
2½.
"Everybody's great," Donoho, 41, tells PEOPLE. "Holly is tired, but she's
fine. Riley came right out and as soon as he heard Holly's voice, he
smiled. He has hair like Elvis – a full head of black hair. The doctor
said he came out looking like a 2-year-old."
Combs and Donoho met on the set of Charmed, in which Combs starred as the
oldest sister among a trio of witches including Alyssa Milano and Rose
McGowan, and Donoho worked as a key grip. They wed on Valentine's Day in
2004.

Brad Kern's
new project
Former Charmed executive producer Brad Kern told SCI FI Wire that he's
trying to develop a television series based on the Scott Westerfeld young adult
novel Midnighters: The Secret Hour. If everything were to come together, Kern
would likely serve the production as executive producer.
"The most intriguing part about it is that there's a secret 25th hour that
occurs at the stroke of midnight, so when the rest of us are frozen in time,
basically, a whole hour exists, and in that frozen hour there are creepy,
ghastly, ghostly beings that are trying to do bad things," Kern said in an
interview. "There are also a select chosen few people, those who were born at
midnight, who can actually live and walk amongst the frozen world. A car frozen
on the street is actually going 50 miles an hour. Raindrops are frozen in place.
But these Midnighters, as they walk through the rain, they actually carve out a
hole because they're walking through it. So they have one hour to exist in this
kind of co-existing world."
Kern added: "It's a very intriguing world. It's a very cinematically visual
area. At this point I'm not yet convinced that we've figured out how to make it
a series. We'd want to up the ages of the characters in the book from all
teenagers in high school to probably [young adults] in their middle to late 20s.
So there's a lot to work [still to be done], but it's an intriguing idea, and,
of course, I adore and thrive in this supernatural realm. So it's something that
allows me to be a daddy at home to my two kids and to, part-time, see if I can
help Warner Brothers launch this new series." —Ian Spelling

Rose McGowan to co-host Spike TV's Scream Awards 2006
on 10 October 2006
Pass the entrails, because Halloween is coming a little early this year when
Rosario Dawson, Rose McGowan and Marley Shelton -- the women of Quentin
Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez's highly anticipated upcoming horror film
"Grindhouse" -- host Spike TV's Scream Awards 2006, airing Tuesday, October 10
(10:00 PM - Midnight, ET/PT). The event (taping at the historic Pantages Theater
in Hollywood on October 7) will reach an estimated 750 million people from over
90 countries outside the U.S.
Fan favorites Dawson, ("Descent," "Sin City," "Men in Black II"), McGowan
("Scream," "Charmed," "The Black Dahlia") and Shelton ("Sin City," "American
Dreamz," "The Last Kiss") appear together on Spike TV's first annual, televised
event which celebrates Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Comic books, before they
light up the screen with "Grindhouse" in 2007.
"Spike TV's Scream Awards 2006 is the first and biggest event to honor the
unique creative talent in the Horror, Sci Fi, Fantasy and Comics genres, all
under one roof," said Casey Patterson, executive producer and senior vice
president event production for Spike TV. "It doesn't get any cooler than the
amazing women of 'Grindhouse' hosting. Rosario, Rose and Marley are an
incredible way to celebrate our first year. The show promises to shock and
entertain the fans and bow down to the gods of the genres."

Alyssa will star in the half-hour ABC comedy show "Me and Everyone Else".
The multicamera comedy has Milano playing a 30-year-old, take-charge woman

In addition to Milano's character the show will focus on Mia's boyfriend, her
brother and her brother's boyfriend. "It's sort of Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethan,"
Bucatinsky quipped, using another classic TV analogy.
Scribe said much of "Me and Everyone Else" will be autobiographical, telling the

Rose to the challenge
Actress Rose McGowan took a break from filming in Austin with Quentin Tarantino
and Robert Rodriguez to attend a party Sunday [3rd September
2006] night at Ghostbar in Dallas for Prison Break star Lane Garrison.
The two famous directors are making a double feature with the working title
Grind House. During the casting, when Ms. McGowan, former star of the WB series
Charmed, was mentioned, both men yelled, "Dibs!" Here's the twist: The Rodriguez
film is called Planet Terror, and Rose plays a woman named Cherry. The Tarantino
film is called Death Proof, and Rose plays Pam, the actress who plays Cherry.
Rose has dialed her wardrobe down since the days when she was engaged to Marilyn
Manson. Sunday night in Dallas, she was wearing an understated sundress.

58th annual primetime Emmy awards to salute late TV industry leader Aaron
Spelling during telecast on NBC, Sunday 27 August 2006
Joan Collins ("Dynasty"), Steven Collins ("7th Heaven") and Heather Locklear
("Melrose Place") To Appear as Part of Tribute
Late television industry leader Aaron Spelling will be honored as part of this
year's "58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards," hosted by Conan O'Brien, airing live
Sunday, August 27 (8:00-11:00 p.m. ET) on NBC. Stars from some of Spelling's
numerous hit series, including Joan Collins ("Dynasty"), Steven Collins ("7th
Heaven") and Heather Locklear ("Melrose Place") will take part in a tribute to
his illustrious career as one of television's most prolific and successful
producers of dramatic series and made-for-television films. The announcement was
made today by Jeff Ross and Ken Ehrlich, the executive producers of the
telecast.
Born in a one room house to poor Jewish immigrant parents in Dallas, Spelling
went on to become the most successful and recognized producer in the history of
the television medium. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, he was
"the most prolific TV producer of all time." As of this year, Spelling had
produced a record of more than 5,000 hours of television programming including
over 300 hours of movie for television and more than a dozen feature films.
Spelling was the name behind countless hit television shows, from "The Mod
Squad," "Starsky and Hutch," "Charlie's Angels," "Hart to Hart," "The Rookies,"
"Fantasy Island," "Vegas," "The Love Boat," and "Dynasty," to "Beverly Hills
90210," "Melrose Place," "7th Heaven," and "Charmed," among literally hundreds
of other popular series and shows.
In the late 1970's, the ABC Network was referred to as "Aaron's Broadcasting
Co," as Spelling had produced nearly 30 series for the network over a 25-year
span, including six mini-series and dozens of movies-of-the-week. During the
1984 season, Spelling had shows on four of seven nights and programmed the
network's entire Saturday schedule, while "Dynasty" ranked as the most-watch
show in television history.
Spelling had amassed a number of awards and honors throughout his career,
including two Emmy Awards for his critically acclaimed television movie, "Day
One," about the atom bomb, and for the HBO movie "And the Band Played On," the
first film to address the AIDS crisis. Spelling was the first producer to be
honored by the Museum of Broadcasting and received the Lifetime Achievement
Award from the People's Choice Awards. He has been honored by the Academy of
Television Arts & Sciences and was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of
Fame. He also received the NATPE Lifetime Achievement Award as well as similar
honors from The Writers Guild of America, The Hollywood Foreign Press
Association, and The Producers Guild. He also received the 1st Excellence in
Television Award from the British Academy of Film & Television, GLAAD's
Appreciation Award and Soap Opera Digest's Editor's Choice Award. Spelling also
received six NAACP Image Awards, including the organization's Humanitarian of
the Year. In 1988, Spelling received the coveted Winston Churchill Medal of
Wisdom.
Produced by NBC Universal Television Studio, the "58th Annual Primetime Emmy
Awards" on NBC will originate from the historical Shrine Auditorium in Los
Angeles. NBC will kick off television's biggest night with the "2006 Emmy Red
Carpet Special," a live one-hour event hosted by Billy Bush and Nancy O'Dell
("Access Hollywood") on Sunday, August 27 (7-8 p.m. ET / PT tape delayed).
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences was founded in 1946 just one month
after network television was born. It is a non-profit organization devoted to
the advancement of telecommunications arts and sciences and to fostering
creative leadership in the telecommunications industry. In addition to
recognizing outstanding programming through its Emmy Awards, the Television
Academy publishes emmy magazine and through its Foundation, is responsible for
the Archive of American Television, College Television Awards, acclaimed student
internships and other educational outreach programs. For more information on the

Rose McGowan will not be able to attend
Starfury The Witching Hour
Statement from the head of Starfury:
"This is just about the worst news that Starfury has had in
ten years, but
unfortunately with guests’ careers, it is always a
possibility.
Rose McGowan will sadly no longer be able to attend Starfury The
Witching Hour
Rose has been cast in the film GRINDHOUSE, directed by Robert
Rodriguez and
Quentin Tarantino. At first, it seemed like her schedule would
allow for her to
attend this event, as she was initially just required for the
Robert Rodriguez
portion of the film, but she will now also be appearing in the
Quentin Tarantino
section as well.
As a result she has been forced to cancel her appearance.
I know how bitterly disappointed all the attendees of this event
will now be.
But Rose is an actress first, and her acting career must take
precedence.
This film will launch her into the mainstream, and is too good a
career
opportunity for her to turn down.
While of course disappointed that she can no longer attend, we
here at Starfury
are delighted to hear that her career continues to grow from
strength to
strength.
Rose was very keen on the opportunity to thank the fans of the
show for their
support, and we hope to bring her to the UK at a later date.
I am currently working on replacement guests for this event. It
will be a
monumental task to replace a guest of Rose’s calibre, but I am
committed to
making the world’s first Charmed event a success for the fans
attending.
I do already have two good name supporting stars from the event
who have
agreed to attend, and have put in several other offers. I will
make an
announcement on Monday regarding replacement guests, the final
line up,
and the events schedule."

The couple's married life was chronicled on TV
Pop stars Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, whose marriage was

MTV reality series Newlyweds, have finalised their divorce.
The couple tied the knot in 2002 and the early years of their
marriage were
documented on the hit TV show.
They are now "restored to the status of single, unmarried

have confirmed.
Simpson's spokesman Rob Shuter refused to comment on speculation
about a

'Mutual decision'
Simpson, 25, is a singer and actress who played Daisy Duke in
last year's movie
remake of 1980s TV series Dukes of Hazzard.
Lachey, 32, an ex-member of US boy band 98 Degrees, appeared in
the drama
Charmed.
Announcing their split in November, they said: "After three
years of marriage,
and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part
ways.
"This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous
amount of respect

Aaron Spelling has
had a stroke
The legendary TV producer, 83, was taken ill over the
weekend but was
allowed to go home after a brief stay in hospital in Los
Angeles.
Spokesman Kevin Sasaki said: "I have details of the
extent of the stroke
but
the fact he was released is a positive sign."
Spelling is the brains behind some of the most successful
shows on TV over
the last 30 years including 'Dynasty', 'Beverly Hills, 90210',
'Starsky and
Hutch', Melrose Place' and 'Hart to Hart'.
He later made daughter Tori Spelling a household name by
casting her in the
90s smash hit, 'Beverly Hills 90210'.
However, her parents have stopped talking to her.
Spelling and his wife Candy have fallen out with her after
she mocked their
"eBay room" - a room in their home dedicated to the
internet auction site.
A friend of the 32-year-old actress revealed: "There
was a scene in the

it.

medical challenges ranging from a daring facial transplant
to a 650-pound
woman whose skin has fused with her sofa. Season three
brings a new doctor
on staff, Dr. Quentin Costa (Bruno Campos) as well as
plenty of drama
outside of the surgeon's office with troubled Matt (John
Hensley) who falls
in with skinheads and Julia (Joely Richardson) launches a
new career.
Additionally, season three brings the culmination of the
story line which
has kept viewers on the edge of their seats -- the shocking
revelation of
the Carver's identity. The Carver, an elusive serial
slasher who slices and
maims, continues to bring more victims into the practice,
where Drs.
McNamara and Troy vow to restore all he's destroyed.
Special features to be included on Nip/Tuck: The Complete
Third Season
include:
Deleted Scenes -- Will be featured on various discs and
will be tied to
corresponding episodes.
The Perfect Look -- A behind-the-scenes featurette about
the look of the
show, set and costume designs.
Chasing the Carver -- On the set with the cast and crew
during the filming
of the season finale when the Carver is revealed.
"Nip/Tuck is a powerful and gripping series that
tackles issues rarely seen
in drama. It is riveting, controversial and keeps viewers
engaged with its
unique and unpredictable storylines, superb acting and
outstanding
production -- each season is better than the last,"
commented Rosemary
Markson, WHV Vice President, TV Marketing. She added,
"Season three
promises to be a DVD experience that will captivate viewers
as it continues
to carry on the same outstanding qualities which have made
the show such a
hit. We think both devoted followers of the series and new
fans of the show
will want to own this DVD."
Set in the high-gloss city of Miami, Nip/Tuck explores the
lives of two
hot-shot plastic surgeons whose catch phrase, "Tell me
what you don't like
about yourself," sets the stage for a series filled
with secrets and
deception. Nip/Tuck was created by Ryan Murphy (Popular)
and premiered in
July of 2003 on the FX cable network. Since its premiere,
the show exploded
to critical acclaim and has earned multiple awards,
including a Golden
Globe Award in 2005 for Best Television Series - Drama. The
third season of
Nip/Tuck aired on FX from September 20, 2005 to December
20, 2005.

Teen People's 20 Teens Who Will Change the

Julian in "Prisoner" - synopsis
The
actor has also
completed work on an independent film, Prisoner, "that
I shot down in
Nashville. I play a guy called Derek Plato whose is this
film maker who has
put out a couple of films which have had extraordinary
influence throughout
the United States and the rest of the world. He has gotten
great accolades,
been nominated for Oscars but he is kind of an arrogant
kind of guy. Then
he gets imprisoned by this character who basically forces
him to look
inside of himself and examine why he is the person that he
is. It was an
absolutely fascinating script to read and hopefully I did a
decent enough
job to do it justice and hopefully it will be a great movie
because it
really was beautifully written. On the whole if you are
person who likes
Nip Tuck you will like this movie it has all of that. It is
just weird, a
little edgy, dark, deep and heavy."

Drew and Dorian in the movies
Dorian Gregory will be in "Show Stoppers". This
movie is currently in
post-production and directed by Barry Bowles
"Show Stoppers" is a comedy-drama set in the
world of Greek stepping on a
historically black university in Virginia "where Greek
steppers get as much
attention as star athletes."
And there is a synopsis for "The ulitmate gift"
which features Drew Fuller.
Jason (Drew Fuller) thought his inheritance was going
to be the gift
of money and lots of it. Was he ever in for a big surprise.
Based on the
best-selling book "The Ultimate Gift" by Jim
Stovall, the story sends trust
fund baby Jason Stevens on an improbable journey of
discovery, having to
answer the ultimate question: "What is the
relationship between wealth and
happiness?" Jason had a very simple relationship with
his impossibly
wealthy Grandfather, Howard "Red" Stevens. He
hated him. No heart-to-heart
talks, no warm fuzzies, just cold hard cash. So of course
he figured that
when Red died, the whole "reading of the will"
thing would be another
simple cash transaction, that his Grandfather's money would
allow him to
continue living in the lifestyle to which he had become
accustomed. But
what Red left him was anything but simple. Red instead
devised a plan for
Jason to experience a crash course on life. Twelve tasks,
which Red calls
"gifts," each challenging Jason in an improbable
way, the accumulation of
which would change him forever.

2006:
The spell is broken. The
witches on "Charmed" won't be making the move
when the WB network combines
forces with UPN to become the CW network in the fall.
A WB spokesman confirmed a TV Guide report on Friday that
said the
supernatural series, which stars Alyssa Milano, Rose
McGowan and Holly
Marie Combs, will end after eight seasons in May.
With "7th Heaven" having already announced its
exit, it means that two WB
long-running series won't move to the CW. The WB and UPN
will both shut
down in September.
The final episode of "Charmed" will air on May
21, TV Guide said.
"It's been a hell of a run," Brad Kern, executive
producer, told the
magazine. "But all good things must come to an
end."

Charmed goes Poof
The Charmed Ones
have officially turned their last trick. Multiple sources
confirm that execs behind the new CW network have decided to
pull the plug on the eight-year drama. The final episode will
air Sunday, May 21.
Ironically, executive producer Brad Kern was holed
up in an editing bay all day Thursday and missed a call from the
president of Spelling Entertainment giving him the official
cancellation news. But it's not like it came as a surprise; he
says he always intended to write the season's last episode as a
series finale. "It's been a hell of a run," he says, "but all
good things must come to an end."
Details of the final episode are being kept under wraps, but fan
favorite Brian Krause will likely be back. And what about
Shannen Doherty?
Says my Charmed mole: "I wouldn't count on it."
Yeah, I figured.

2006:
Will Charmed survive?
"No." That was the simple heart-wrenching answer given by Rose
McGowan when asked if there might be another season of the WB
cult hit series. "My contract's done. Other contracts are done,
so no. [Laughs] No. You know, the show's been on forever. It has
achieved so many amazing milestones. It's the longest running
female show in history. That's kind of bizarre. I mean, I
haven't been there the full eight years, but it's still a huge
achievement."
Of course, its fans want it to go much longer, which is why the
aforementioned two-letter word might be a smidge hard to read.
But it does seem, at least by McGowan's account, that the cast
is ready to move on.
The good news? When asked if fan favorite Leo (Brian Krause)
might return--which fans are dying to see!--Rose answered with a
wink and a smile, saying, "I think so. I hope Leo comes back. I
hope he will, and I think he will. We love Brian."
We were on set for an episode in which (spoiler alert--don't
read if you don't want to know!) Rose's character, Paige, gets
hitched. It happens very fast. "Horrible things happened, and to
make them into good things, the wedding was just planned," she
explained.
You can get the full Rose interview in the message boards--and,
of course, catch Charmed on Sunday to lend your support!
