Alyssa made her professional acting debut at age eight in the role of July
in the Tony-winning Broadway musical, "Annie". She spent over a year
playing the role in the tour before returning to New York to appear
off-Broadway in the first American musical adaptation, "Jane
Eyre" at the theater
Opera Music Institute, Wendy Wasserstein´s one-act Play, "Tender
Offer" at the New York Ensemble Theater, "All Night Long"
at the Second Stage and "Warning
Signals" at the Manhattan Theater Club.
Child actress and model Alyssa
Milano rose to fan-magazine fame in the role of Samantha Micelli on the TV
series Who's the Boss ? (1984-1993) which ran for 8 years in which time
Alyssa won three Youth In Film awards for "Best Supporting Actress".
During the run of this series, Milano made her TV-movie bow opposite
no less than Sir John Gielgud in 1986's The Canterville Ghost. She has
acted along such actors as John Candy, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Johnathan
Silverman of TV's "The Single Guy", Will Smith, Sean Astin, and
Christian Slater. Like many former child stars, Milano has done her best
to break her earlier image by
appearing in adult roles calling for heavy breathing and come-hither
glances: perhaps her most spectacular appearance along these
lines was in the role of the estimable Amy Fisher in the the 1992 TV movie
Casualties of Love: The Long Island Lolita Story.
According to those who keep tabs
on such things, Milano has lined up roles in "three or four very
adult movies". Her most recent movies were Fear
with Reece Witherspoon and Hugo Pool with Malcolm McDowell. In 1997 Alyssa
joined the cast of Fox TV's "Melrose Place" . Alyssa's debut on
Melrose Place was on Monday
April 14th 1997.
Alyssa released some CDs:
1989: Alyssa
1989: Look In My Heart
1990: Best In The World
1991: Locked Inside A Dream
1992: Do You See Me?
