Summary: Leo discovers that the Charmed Ones' conflict-free world comes with a higher price than anticipated, so he must join Zankou to stop the Avatars and reverse the change. By sacrificing himself he reminds Phoebe of her emotions so she will not be indifferent to the avatars suppressing of free will anymore. When the sisters realise what the avatars do they join forces with Zankou and force the avatars to turn back time and undo the changes. Leo returns and the world is as it was but Kyle Brody does not come back ..

Trivia: When Leo holds Brody's New York snowglobe and Zankou blazes into the apartment, the World Trade Center towers glow orange in the flaming light accompanying his off-screen entrance. The effect is certainly subtle and if you're going to devote an entire story arc to the fact that evil is necessary for good to exist in the world, evoking September 11th seems virtually mandatory at this point.

Zankou and Leo wander through a chamber littered with ancient Egyptian debris including a discarded mummy.
Nice scene considering that Oded Fehr played in The Mummy and The Mummy returns.

Phoebe: What's the matter, Zankou? Chicken?
Meaning:
The season 7 villain "Zankou" is named after a small chain of middle eastern takeout restaurants near the Warner Bros. studios in Burbank, California, hence the remark.

  
     
Title reference: It is a play on the word Armageddon.
Armageddon in Christianity is anticipated as the final battle between the forces of good (Jesus and his angels) and the forces of evil (Satan and his demons).
It also refers to any great loss of life in battle etc.
