An ancient demon who had been the scourge of both Earth and the Underworld. Various Sources of All Evil have had to deal with him over the centuries. He has an exceptional power of cognesence and seems to sense the weaknesses of his opponents. He can also teleport (often in the form of buzzing bee bits) as well as to flame and use a deadly and painful form of demonic energy blasts. Believed a serious threat to the demonic heirarchy, Zankou was imprisioned in the Underworld by one of the last Sources; he was recently released to wreack havoc upon the world again.
He is able to take over other demons' powers.
 His intelligence and crafty nature should not be underestimated. He will do whatever it takes to get what he desires.

Zankou also appears in the book "Leo rising"

Summary: The Avatars insist that Leo protect the Seer because she has information that can help them destroy the demons. Meanwhile, Agent Brody shares his darkest secret with Paige, bringing them closer together; and Phoebe and Lt. Morris become more suspicious of Agent Brody. With the seer's help Phoebe finds out that Sheridan is in coma. When the seer gives Phoebe a vision of a future without demons but with her daughter and Piper's kids growing up safely Phoebe and Piper are willing to hear the avatars out. Paige however sticks to Brody's version that the avatars are evil. Meanwhile the threatened demons have released one powerful demon called Zankou.
