Summary: |
While investigating a murder at Magic School, Paige and Agent
Brody are sucked into an unfinished novel written 20 years ago by two students.
They suddenly find themselves in a 1930s film noir, where they are chased by
gangsters in pursuit of the famed Burmese Falcon. With no way to escape, Paige
and Brody must help Eddie Mullen, the missing young author of the novel, learn
to be a hero so the story can end. Back at Magic School, Phoebe, Piper and Leo
frantically try to rescue Paige and Brody by writing clues into the pages of the
novel. Meanwhile, Phoebe tries to help Leo win Piper back, but Piper is still
struggling with her feelings. |

Trivia: |
The original title was "Charmed noir".
Phoebe: So, what do you think, Nancy Drew? Lover's quarrel?
Meaning:
Nancy Drew is the heroine of a popular mystery series for girls.
Paige: Thank you. Do I look like Lana Turner?
Meaning:
Lana Turner (February 8, 1921 - June 29, 1995) was an American
actress famed early in her career for tight sweaters and smoldering
sensuality and later in her career for sudsy romance films with
maximum tragedy and glamorous gowns. Kyle Brody: Right out of "The Postman Always Rings Twice". The good
version.
Meaning:
"The
Postman always rings twice" was one of Lana Turner's film noirs.
There was a remake in 1980 it never reached the quality of the
original version of 1946.
Paige: They wrote themselves in as the heroes of their own books. Like
Sam Spade or Philip Marlowe.
Meaning:
Sam
Spade was the leading character in the novel and movie The Maltese
Falcon (1931). The original novel was written by Dashiell Hammett, and
was first published as a serial in the pulp magazine Black Mask.
Philip Marlowe is a fictional private eye created by Raymond
Chandler in a series of detective novels including The Big Sleep and
The Long Goodbye. Marlowe's character is typical of a genre of
hardboiled crime fiction that originated with Dashiell Hammett and
Black Mask magazine in the 1920s where the private eye is a
pessimistic and cynical observer of a corrupt society. Yet the
enduring appeal of Marlowe and other "hard-boiled dicks" like
Hammett's Sam Spade lies in their tarnished idealism. Paige: The Falcon as in The Maltese Falcon?
Meaning:
"The
Maltese Falcon" is a detective novel by Dashiell Hammett which was
made into a quintessential film noir. |
