With the demonic assistance of Doris, who lures Victor Bennet to marry her and get close to the Charmed Ones, he tries to use this moment and steals the baby for the dark site.

Cronyn and Doris are vanquished by Phoebe and Paige with a potion and the magical help of the unicorn horn.

Unicorns are the essence of good magic,
mythical beasts from another world. They can enhance powers.

Summary:

Phoebe and Paige discover that all magic - both good and bad - has disappeared the day before Piper's baby is born. Reluctantly they go to a summit meeting with Cronyn and leaders of evil and realise that this was just a trick to get them out of the way so that Cronyn and his demonic asistant Doris can get to Piper, her steal her baby and turn it evil.

Trivia:

The original title was "The day the magic died".

Piper is threatened by toxemia.
Toxemia (tokse´mee): a disorder occurring during the latter half of pregnancy characterized by high blood pressure, the appearance of protein in the urine, and edema (swelling). If not treated it can result in convulsions and coma. The cause of toxemia of pregnancy has not been established with certainity.

Meaning:
Refers to director Frank Capra and, indirectly, to his 1946 film "It's a Wonderful Life".

Phoebe: "Our Dad is a bit like Darren Stevens when it comes to our magic"
Meaning:
A reference to cult classic "Bewitched" in which Darren Stevens never like his wife Samantha using witchcraft and always asked her to stop using magic although she kept ignoring him and using it anyway.
