Book of Shadows > Season 5
Title: 5x10 The mummy's tomb

Creatures: 5x10 JericJeric, A demon known not only for his witch-killing but also for his rituals of mummification. Jeric's evil dates as far back as ancient Egypt. In the past few decades he has surfaced in the Middle East, Cairo, Istanbul and Tripoli. He can be identified by the sand that he leaves behind in the winds of his dematerialization.

In aAncient Egypt they didn't have the power to vanquish him, so they just mummified him instead. Isis, an evil witch cast a spell which released him, they fell in love and she got killed by his enemies. Since then he was trying to find a replacement body, to host her spirit but the bodies keep dying.

Jeric tries to find a witch with enough magic for Isis to use to dispossess the host body. To trap Isis spirit and keeps her from moving on he mummifies the corpse until he can find her a new body and transfers her spirit.

Jeric and the spirit of Isis were vanquished by the Charmed Ones.

Spells: to see what someone had been scrying for:

Scrying secrets come to me,
drop again so I might see

mummifying spell:

Saqqara tiet ushebti

There is no translation available but some explanations for certain words.
Saqqara is an immense necropolis (cemetery) just south of Cairo and west of the ancient city of Memphis of which very little remains. Used as a burial ground for thousands of years, Saqqara hides its secrets well under desert sands.

Ushebti is the rendering into modern language of one of several Ancient Egyptian words (image) used to denote the often mummy-shaped statue that was buried with the deceased. Other words, based on the same verbal root, are Shabti and Shawabti. These words can all be translated as "the one who answers", a reflection on the particular function of this type of statue.

Possession spell:

Khet mastaba hotep ka

A mastaba was a flatroofed, mudbrick, rectangular building with sloping sides that marked the burial of site of many eminent Egyptians of the Egypt's ancient period.

De-mummifying spell:

Dromos wabet khufu nemes akh

Khufu (in Greek known as Cheops) was a Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt's Old Kingdom.
He is most famous for the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Nemes is a striped headcloth worn by the pharaoh.

Dromos is a passageway, often framed with sphinxes or lions

to drive a soul out of a body:

Together no more through time,
expel her soul,
leave only mine

Cole seems to have gone mad.

This is the second time Leo shows that whitelighters have the power of shapeshifting (by changing into Jeric). First time he did it in 3x07 "Power Outage" by morphing into Belthazor.

Adrian Paul has become popular by playing Duncan McLeod in the series Highlander. Elisabeth Gracen who played the vampire queen in 4x18 "Bite me" also had a returning role in that series.
