The Water demon is a demon who only kills in the water
Sometimes it takes over its victim’s bodies to lure others to the water. 
It kills by drowning its victims from the inside.

It's vanquished by Prue with the help of Sam Wilder.

Sam Wilder, a former teacher, was Patty Halliwell's whitelighter. They fell in love with each other after Patty and Victor divorced and as it was revealed later on they had a child - Paige Matthew.

While visiting the lake where her mother was killed, Prue witnesses what she believes to be another drowning. This leads all three sisters to new revelations about their mother's death when they realize that there is a demon living in the lake's murky waters. But things get more complicated when they discover that Sam Wilder was their mother's whitelighter and that she was in love with him. After finding out that the whitelighter was partly to blame for her mother's death, Leo decides that it would be best if he no longer worked with Piper.
