Fiona Dunne, ghost hunter She has minor psychic abilities. Sheldon Winters, bully ghost These ghosts usually pick on weaker ghosts Sheldon killed his wife Victoria and himself in order to keep her under his control. When Victoria finally learnt that he committed suicide he could no longer hold her against her will and she was free to leave him and move on. Blaming Fiona Dunne he tried to get her back to his mansion to strangle her there thus forcing her to spend eternity with him. The ghost was vanquished when the Charmed Ones found and destroyed his bones. Ghosts are spirits that have not moved on to the otherworld yet. They are stuck because they have unresolved issues, are kept by malevolent entities or due to spiritual confusion e.g. when souls die a violent death together. When souls die at once, the good ones can't move on because the bad ones are holding them back and vice versa. Usually ghosts are stuck in the place they are haunting however at All Hallow's Eve they can move freely.
Ghosts are stuck in their own reality trying
to force everything to fit it. |

Phoebe does not have empath powers
anymore. And now, after one failed marriage, to Cole - who had led a tirple life as himself, the demon Belthazor and the Source - .. Cole never led a triple life. He became the source after his demon half had been vanquished. "Some Chinese people use a little dragon thingie that protects homes from ghosts." "Why not use the dragon thingie?" O'Brien asked. "We don't have one." And why not? Wouldn't the Charmed Ones need every protection they can get? Phoebe took Cole's hand in hers, Cole took Fiona's .. Cole? That's a printing error, it should be Coop. |

|
The novel is set in a somewhat claustrophobic atmosphere
because the major part is set solely within the manor. This is outbalanced
by the description of the Halloween party preparations and decorations
which give it a warm, friendly (but definitely not spooky) feeling - a
happy family celebrating Halloween with close friends. When the ghost takes over boredom sets in. The "action" is predictable and not really exciting, the little b-plot with Ken Carson, the sceptic professor, is not leading anywhere and there again are leprechauns .. though remarkable less annoying than in other novels or the episodes. The book is an entertainng reading because the characters are well drawn. Almost every character is present, Victor, Coop, Henry, Wyatt, little Chris, even Leo. Still, the book didn't convince - mainly because the author insisted on showing off her "knowledge" of the series by mentioning almost each and every past episode .. from Mark the ghost to Christie Jenkins and her triad friends. Dear Mrs. Gallagher, if I really want to remember old stuff I will watch TV or the DVDs or read a decent episode guide. |
