| Title: | The queen's curse | |||
| Creatures: |
Colin of Tarsina is the prince of a magical realm which is
ruled by king Philip and queen Ramona. Being a good witch with the power
to make others see what he wants them to see, he has fallen in love with
Corinne, a nonmagical mortal. Tarsina exists on an alternate plane and is invisible to the mortal eye. For centuries it existed untouched and unadulterated by nonmagical beings. However in the 20th century the people of Tarsina started to venture out and little by little brought evidence of the outside world back to the kingdom or invited mortals to Tarsina. Colin's great-great-grandmother not only disapproved but also tried to keep her own line pure. Before she died in 1916, she put a curse on the kingdom. Each heir to the throne must marry another pure magical being by his or her 25th birthday or her wrath will rain down on the kingdom sparing only those of pure magical blood. Sinjin, the queen's brother and leader of the Loyalists (a group who is trying to drive away all nonmagical beings), tries everything to make the curse come to fruition. |

|
Tarsina is presented in some amusing way
which is counteracted by the boring style (repeated phrases and
stereotypes). There is never any real tension in the story which mainly
focuses on Paige. Though the real villains are revealed only at the end,
this happens in a way that leaves you with a "so, that's all?" feeling.
Read if you can endure fairytale cliches and have nothing else at hand. |
