Isabella Marshall was a famous artist and
mother of a daughter (Lucile). When
her marriage to an east coast banker turned sour, Isabella divorced her
husband and returned to S.F. While planning
Mural house (an artists' colony) she fell in love
iwth the architect William Lancaster. When Isabella's work began to overshadow
his own, William became jealous and controlling. Isabella tried to pull away
and he got almost insane, completely obsessed with the desire to control her.
One day he suddenly disappeared. Miranda Nance A young artist and friend of Isabella. An unnamed Warren witch had met Miranda, befriended her and learnt of her relationship with Isabella and the subsequent disappearance of William Lancaster. Miranda herself was not a witch though she did devote a significant portion of her life to documenting magic all over the world. Due to her work she had become an expert of spells of entrapment. Miranda helped Isabella to get free. She adviced Isabella to paint a lifesize painting of William on her studio wall, then cast a spell binding William's essence to the protrait, trapping his will inside it. Then she and Isabella painted over it, sealing him up. Isabella however refused to destroy William's body. While Miranda tried to persue her to do so, the place where his body was being hidden was broken into and the body stolen. William Lancaster The architect was a handsome looking guy with a long face, green eyes, a full, sensuous mouth and dark hair. He was killed and thereby freed by Gil Townsend.

| Summary: |
The Bay Mirror is covering the grand reopening of Mural House, a
San Francisco landmark built in the 1920s, the once-famous artists' colony that
housed great art, passion, and scandal. Notable for all is the story of the
building's architect, William Lancaster, who, during the construction, fell in
love with an artist -- a young divorcée named Isabella Marshall. Their
relationship was tumultuous at best, eventually ending in tragedy...and in
William's disappearance. The hoopla surrounding Mural House's reopening has made William and Isabella's love affair legendary. With the permission of Isabella's daughter, Lucile, Phoebe has been reprinting the couple's love letters in her column. She joins Lucile, now an elderly woman, at the gala's main event -- the unveiling of a long-painted-over mural. Lucile is visibly upset when the mural is revealed; in fact, she seems horrified. Before passing out from fear, she whispers, "The evil has been released..." Meanwhile S.F. is hit by a series of brutal murders. And the handsome manager Piper hired is not as innocent as he seems to be. |

Piper brings Wyatt and the babysitter to P3, so they
are not alone while a murderer is threatening the city. P3 is a night club with lots of noise and stays open till the wee hours of the morning .. even if Wyatt is just in the office this is certainly not the place for a little child to stay. What happened to William's original body? Was he magically kept alive? If not why has it been stolen? "Waiting around was hardly the Charmed Ones's style. They preferred to take it to the bad guys whenever they could." in 4x03 Hell hath no fury Phoebe reminds Piper that they let the "bad guys" come to them instead of hunting them down Why should the grandson of Donovan feel so obliged to William, a man he has never known in person. |

| Although the crime puzzle is well kept till near the end the book is rather boring. There is plenty of endless talk about Isabella and William and the girls discuss the matter over and over again. The story wins with Lucile's character - that old lady is more vivid than the girls and her interaction with Phoebe is nice to read. | ||||
